Peter Gelagotis told everyone early doors we havent see the best of Illustrious Lad and judging by his first up performance recently in Adelaide he looks set for bigger things this spring. The highly talented son of leading sire I Am Invincible showed his customery finishing burst to get over the Lindsay Park in form sprinter Shaf with ease in the Listed Wyley Stakes over 1100m on rain affected ground and gave a very good indication of things to come.

"Anthony Darmanin has really clicked with this horse and I cant wait to get him back to Melbourne to have a go at some really good races with him. I cant hide him anymore as he has worked through his grades brilliantly and its now time to challenge the 5YO emerging sprinter through the spring carnival back home with a long term plan to get him into the Goodwood Hcp - he absolutely thrives in Adelaide" said Peter Gelagotis

Illustrious Lad will next run at Caulfield on the 12th October in the Village Stakes.
