EspritRossa230Promising mare Esprit Rossa returned a winner at Ararat in a 1300m Showcase after a disastrous unlucky run at Geelong where she sat behind the leaders on the rail and just could not get a run anywhere and basically went up the straight in 2nd gear hard held by Craig Newitt . Ridden by Dean Yendall at Ararat the mare settled off the pace and rounded them up to win in great fashion and proved her class on the day and put her campaign right back on track after some bad luck with tracks and weather which to date has hindered her program.

"This mare has always been in my top bracket of horses and I loved the way she let down today off a slow tempo race today to run down some very honest western district horses and it showed to me she was right back on track and we expected her to be very competitive. Great ride and the trip away will bring her on now and we look forward to a good spring with her where we will focus on some city races now and give her a chance to graduate and build on her consistent record to date ".  Said trainer Peter Gelagotis
