It appears a bold training adventure by Peter Gelagotis has paid off for connections with promising stayer Heytown Lad who won very well at Geelong over 2000m at his second race start however it was on his debut that raised eyebrows when he made his debut at the same track over 2000m where he flashed home for a great 2nd indicating better things to come and this is not normal in Australia for horses to race over staying trips at their first start and it was a great effort by the trainer and horse to deal with the circumstances presented.
"Our facilities at home allow us to cater for horses to work solidly and this training performance is another advertisement for the Horse Gym Treadmill we purchased and it allows us to assess our horses and work them with elevations and it has certainly added another dimension to my training and this result with Heytown Lad is a great advertisement. Above this he is certainly a lovely stayer in the making with a strong lung capacity and both riders who have ridden him have given the horse a massive tick and the future looks bright for him going forward". Said Peter Gelagotis
"Heytown Lad was purchased from Adelaide Magic Million Sales along with Miss Macarena so we are delighted both horses have turned out very well and we are racing the horses with great stable clients and it appears both these horses have great futures". Said Racing Manager Manny Gelagotis
