When Esprit Rossa started her racing career many good judges shared the view her future was bright when she was an unlucky runners up at Sale before winning well at the same track before a break at her 2nd start. Unluckily for connections she had an infection to her throat and had a small procedure to rectify a small issue and this was a setback and her and her 2 next starts were very average where she was found to be lame after running on a bottomless wet track at Ballarat so she was subsequently spelled immediately.
She was presented at Sale first up after a nice break and she could not have been more impressive winning well over 1100m and it appears she is right back on track based on the ease of the performance sitting off the speed and powering home to win by a length in soft style.
"She had a solid foundation and done everything right in her jump outs and trials and we were very confident she would get back to her best and it was great to see as I think she is untapped in ability this mare" stated Peter Gelagotis
"We believe she is city grade and we will let her progress through her future races naturally and hopefully we will see the best of her from here on in and winning 2 of her first 5 starts is great and she loves Sale which is ideal for us based here in Gippsland and I am very pleased for the owners who are a great bunch of friends and they have left Peter to manage her and their patience is going to be rewarded" said Racing Manager Manny Gelagotis
Esprit Rossa will progress next start to a 1200/1300m race where she will prove hard to beat for sure.
