Courtesy of Racing Network TVN - 25/01/15. The weekend got even better for Moe's Gelagotis stable when Mr Wonderful won impressively on debut in the Sommervilles SV 3YO Maiden Plate (1423m) at Sale.

The son of High Chaparral began well from a wide barrier and sat third under Damien Oliver before taking over around the home turn.

Mr Wonderful stretched out impressively and comfortably held at bay the Wez Hunter-trained Pepperjack, who started a $4.20 favourite (less deductions) after the late scratching of the well backed Uncle Keithy, who was kicked by another runner behind the barriers.

Mr Wonderful started a $6 second favourite, paying $4 on SuperTAB after Uncle Keithy's withdrawal.

Manny Gelagotis, stable manager for brother Peter, described Mr Wonderful as "a lovely horse".

"It looks like he's got a really nice future."

Oliver agreed, telling TVN's Shane Templeton Mr Wonderful was "a nice horse".

"He's still a little bit raw. We knew he began well so I didn't want to take that away from him — put him in the race and see what he could do.

"I think the boys have always liked him. I had my first sit on him earlier this week and he gave me a nice feel but he was still a bit raw.

"He'd made nice progression from Monday to today so it was nice going forward and I think he can improve."
