Quality youngster Illustrious Lad returned with a bang at Cranbourne recently to the relief of all concerned including leading trainer Peter Gelagotis .

"After winning his debut in Adelaide as a 2yo in emphatic fashion the bar was high from day one and when he was gelded he appeared to lose his way last preparation but it was great to see him finish like that tonight on a track that normally doesnt suit back markers however he showed his true class" said Gelagotis

 By leading sire I am Invincible Illustrious Lad will now head to midweek level and be given his chance at city grade again during the winter months where Gelagotis expects the horse to really work through the grades and judging on the barnstorming first up win this time around the connections can certainly look forward to some good times ahead.

Illustrious Lad was a graduate of the Magic Millions Gold Coast sale when sold by leading farm Yarraman Park.
