Gun 3 year old Illustrious Lad took a very significant step towards greater challenges by trouncing a very handy 3yo field at the transfered city meeting at Geelong recently. After winning in fine style first up at Cranbourne the jury was out as to where the horse was heading and he gave his trainer & connections a clear message he was back on the big stage and ready for bigger asignments when he desposed of a very good field at Geelong (Sandown Transfer) which included stakes performed horses and city winners which has now given Gelagotis something to think about moving forward.

"This horse was very frustrating last preparation but has come back bigger and better in all facets and some gear changes have certainly helped his confidance and he is really showing a great turn of foot in his races and is a very happy horse both on and off the track. His Cranbourne win first up left me guarded, however getting him back to city grade in a much stronger race yesterday has convinced me he is ready to tackle the big guys again and I may even swing him to Adelaide in the William Hill Stakes if im happy with his condition in the next week which is at Group 2 level and the timing is perfect for him to have an oppotunity at some black type over in Adelaide". "It was great to see some our great loyal clients involved in the win especially Anthony Panozzo who raced the dam Industrious which influenced him to purchase this son of I Am Invincible who is taking all before him at the moment with horse like Brazen Beau so his stud future looks positive and our horse looks to be one of his better 3yo at the moment which is great for all concerned" Gelagotis said
